Description

Gorgeous black moss crepe maxi halterneck dress from boutique era label Paul Nicholas and Co. of W1, with attached flower print chiffon overcape.

Liz at Emmapeelpants had this as a palazzo trouser suit and I wanted it VERY much, so was over the moon when I found this.. but when I got home and tried it on I realised I would have to take off about 6 inches from the hem as a) I´m too short, and b) I am a clumsy heel-wearer (fall over, hurt self, put them through hems etc.). And it would, quite frankly, lose it´s willowy appeal!

Fastens to the rear with a concealed nylon zipper, the halter neck is a fixed length as you can see from the rear.

London boutique label which is always very Ossie Clark in styling. Wish I knew a little more about it but have been looking for years with no avail. So feel free to email if you have any history about it!

Measures: Labelled a UK10, but I would say early 70s so more like a modern 8.

Bust 32" plus some cup room
High waist 26"
Hips bias cut, so pretty free size as the skirt portion is slightly flared
Overall length from shoulder to hem 58"

Condition: Very good. Couple of tiny pinholes in the chiffon which wouldn´t photograph, and a tiny (3mm) repair to the seam joining the cape to the moss crepe - unseen externally, and again didn´t really show up. Ready to wear!
