Description

SORRY, THIS ITEM IS NOW SOLD

Originally worn as a wedding dress in the early 1940s, this is a gorgeous just-off white rayon jersey dress with scrolling soutache detail to the bodice, gathered shoulders and puffed sleeves with shoulderpads.

As you can see it has a slightly dropped waistline, flared skirt falling from gathers at the front hips. The natural waistline ties to fit.

Be warned though, there are no openings and this dress belonged to a very petite lady! I would say a modern 6/8. It has slight stretch but if it were me I would add a zipper to the side placket. if you did that it would be easier to access! Currently there is just a metal zipper to the nape of the neck, down to shoulderblade height.

Label: None

Fabric: no labels, but a rayon jersey

Measurements: Bust flat is 34" - you need a small ribcage as remember the waist will have to slip over your bosom. Waist is 27" loose, but ties to fit, Hips are free at 46", and overall length from shoulder to hem is 38". It really is a UK6 or willowy size 8.

Condition: Good, strong and wearable. Noted flaws are some loose stitching at the side seam near the waist (double seam so isnīt actually open - pictured) . I left it incase you wanted to put a zip in anyway. Also thereīs the age spotting/foxing. Not immediately obvious, there is a small spot in the folds of the skirt too. Immediately wearable as is.
