1940s mauve cutwork detailed maternity dress (small)

Description

This is such a sweet dress - someone has lovingly altered a pre-pregnancy dress by reworking the waistline to accomodate their bump, and they were quite a skilled seamstress! In a pretty mauve colour, it features cutwork designs to the shoulders, a a three button placket to the bodice with m.o.p. style buttons (bottom one is a replacement), and original side metal zipper.

I´ve included a belt I purchased to go with the dress which is not the original but is a very good match (despite being slightly later in date).

Label: No makers label, but old square 42 size tag

Fabric: It´s a quite sturdy fabric, almost a gabardine feel to it - I think synthetic or a blend.

Measures; Probably best for a pre-pregnancy 12UK

Condition: Good vintage condition, as mentioned bottom button is a replacement but a good match. Dress has been cleaned but there are a couple of faint marks as pictured - still completely wearable as it comes.
